The Kortrijkse mill

You could not miss it, located directly at our hotel is the Kortrijkse mill. The mill is open every Wednesday and Sunday. When there is wind, the blades turn and the millers are present. You can even enter and if you dare, go up the stairs to the ridge of the mill.

The Kortrijk seesaw mill was built in 1535 to grind the Kortrijk polder dry. The seesaw is an old type of polder mill. The mill has a large water wheel that ground the excess water from the polder when the A2 was built in 1951. Currently, the mill is inactive and an electric pumping station has taken over the work.

Do you know how long the blades of the mill are? And why does this mill have a brake? Visit the Kortrijkse Molen!
